Two Lives Never Saved

She was ever really there, For him she did not care. He couldn't feel the pain. But it was driving him insane. She had to understand, She couldn't just demand. But she thought that somehow, That it was too late now. She took her last life away, Said she'll see him again soon someday. Now he felt her pain, It came pouring down like rain. So he never found the key, And was never set free. She was ignorant to the fact that, this was another disappearing act. She'd made him believe, That she would never leave. She didn't stay, only because, She never thought how selfish it was. Ripping at his heart, tear after tear. After he reached out to touch her hair, Only to find.. She was never really there. ~Written in 2001, when I was twelve~

Yes. ^_^ I was quite young when I wrote this, only twelve. I think rhyming was the only way I knew how to write poetry. I'm only just now beginning to learn about other forms.Thank you for your suggestion; I will try free verse. :)

good again, but try free verse. Rhyming is the very chains of poetry. Restricting the use of your own words...
