Two English Sonnets
When a Man Loves a Woman
When a man loves a woman, he believes
And frees his heart from being self-contained
To feel emotions in depth he conceives
With a lover's rush quietly restrained
In lonely corners of his soul's desire
He'll free the guarded wings of his heart
To allow them to soar ever higher
With a love that he hopes will never part
He'll dream of mornings with her fragrant scent
And want for evenings walked in shadowed light
To hold her close with her lover's consent
And feel warmth and comfort through every night
To find a love for a soul to capture
To know each tender touch from love's rapture
When a Woman Loves a Man
When a woman loves a man, she will give
And trust her impulse is correct and true
For to love will allow her heart to live
And will chase away fear and doubt in view
The lover she chooses is now her dream
And fulfills a need of her heart's concern
To gather in her arms a love that's supreme
And hold ever tighter as their days turn
She'll yearn for time to be an endless thread
Woven into moments of love that's pure
To travel love's path with their arms outspread
And capture each days laughter's soft allure
To see her love with deep passionate eyes
And find her love filled with sweet joy and sighs
