Twenty Twenty Hindsight
Stay home, don’t leave, don’t go anywhere,
Don’t go to visit your mates,
Stay away from every single person you know,
Stay out of their personal space,
And disinfect, and bleach, and cleanse your world,
Live like a hospital machine,
So you can reflect on the side of a wall,
Because it’s all shiny and clean,
And if you go out to buy, you know, food,
Strap a face mask to your head,
Don’t touch your eyes, nose, ears, mouth or cheek,
To avoid you becoming all dead,
By April 2020, in this the year of the virus,
The year countries joined in a fight,
That we didn’t see coming, though we knew it was there,
Using perfect 20-20 hindsight.
