Twelve Years
For my lovely friend, this is for you. Grief and loss have their own path. But love and light last forever. Blessings, love and hugs.
Twelve years

You left us twelve years ago
But it's just like it was yesterday
Twelve years of mourning
Grief and loss that keep staying
Feeling infinite in the clock's ticking
Life moves forward year by year
But you are still held deep inside
Wrapped up in hopes and tears
You were always part of my dream
Held dear in my broken heart
Sometimes I have this fear
That you took away our best part
Grief and loss have their own path
Their own way to keep time
With the beating of our fragile hearts
The memories held enshrined
I know you watch us from Heaven
And I know my sadness gives you pause
But our whole family wants you to remember
That you're the one we all adore
Whether twelve years or a hundred
Your loss will always be felt here
Perhaps time will eventually be gentle
And release this grief and loss to the ethers
We love you with our whole hearts
We miss you to the moon and back
And one day we look forward
To getting our family back
