Tulips
I planted bulbs in fall
Totally forgot about them
They sprung up at spring’s call
Adding vivid colors to my garden
Resplendent in yellow, red, white
Swaying to the spring breeze
Filled my heart with delight
Putting gnawing anxiety to ease
They bloomed for a few weeks
Such beauty has a short life
Voice of nature speaks
With hues and beauty rife
Enjoy life when you can
It seems to whisper
Youth and health do not span
For you to enjoy later
