Truth Eating At Me

Restless sleep Tossing and turning To think about the words You spilled without thought Anger burning the truth onto your tongue To tell me what you think That it was just my pride I doomed my own fate Made the choice that got me beat every day Do you think I asked for it Because I continued to stay Tell me again You think no less of me But now the truth hangs Between you and me And we toss and turn Unable to sleep Guilt eating at you Truth eating at me

Wow, a very powerful poem here. I really liked it! I've felt these sort of emotions before and you expressed it so perfectly and poetically. Truly an intriguing verse! Excellent job! Always, Laura
