Truth

The truth dances at the edge of my vision Unsure who's truth I should follow Each held with such strong conviction Still their truths shimmer like a mirage The closer I get The further it travels Out of my reach My tongue is swollen I continue to drink sand Will my thirst ever be quenched Is there even a single drop to swallow They promised fountains

Mirages can look very much like the real deal. And when you're sweltering hot and desperate... anything can feel like water. Great story of one being led astray...
