True Love
A couple walks along a crowded street,
gazing at each other as though they had
met for the first time.
Their fingers are warmly clasped to each other,
as though they are wedding. Eyes roll with
admiration and envy.
Extended night shifts, in-laws, gossips,
mortgage and teenage crisis of their children
have brought them closer than they could ever imagine.
The sense of bliss in their faces
hides the destructive past that has made them
to fall more deeply in love with each other.....
