True Friend

Poet: Ken Jordan Poem: True Friend Edited by: Sparkle Jordan written: April/2015 I remember, when the light, in your life was dark..... Yes, I was their, when your whole world fell apart - I believe that, God sent me to rescue you, from a raging storm - But, soon as the stormy winds begin to cease, You distance yourself from me, (your only friend.....) and I was left standing In the rain..... You had to leave this old place, for a better atmosphere..... Said you needed to meet new people, hoping for better days..... Said you needed to network, through new friends, and make a brand new start - After you left, I said: "This is not what friends do, if it's truly friendship from the heart." Friend, I want you to know, that your leaving, hurt me deep to my core. But, I'm okay now - It's just the way life goes I suppose- Sometimes love hurt, down to your soul - Remember, I was there for you - when your life was low - I gave you all that I had to give - though you left without a word - I was your rock, when the light in your life was dark -

Beautifully written poem, Ken! I'm glad I read it. Yes, I try to be a loyal friend to others, too. God sees our faithfulness, even when others bail out on us. God bless :)

oh yes, I understand this one very very well. i have had a number of people, mostly poet friends, just bail on me. Some I have never heard from again. I'm always such a loyal friend. I think some people have no problem at all with simply moving on . I enjoyed this one.
