Truce

She watched with absent eyes from the dark As the tundra of our smiles performed their dances The snowy winds long ago snuffed out this spark We speak our pleasantries like dolls in trances Our summer years passion now a winking coal Winter's embrace Gone are the "I love you" days Gone are angry words turned to Oreos Now we go our separate ways Our hearts weren't meant to play in stereo Let the notes of my misery play through these sighs I left quickly before I was lost in mournful goodbyes Alone in darkness, unable to cry Wishing some kind hand would help me die
