Troublesome Experience

Why oh why should I have this affliction about the English language and its diction, I never did seem able to spell nor use the proper adjectives that well, at school I was bottom of the class teacher felt I was too dense to pass, I gave English away as a bad job so what! let everyone else be a nob, I had given up hope of grammar school to me by now being thick was cool, my sights were now set on fiction that’s why; I’ve probably still got this affliction!!! © Harry J Horsman 1985

This is great humor you showed here. I think it is possible to be a good writer and not have to be that great with English. Especially when it comes to humorous poetry. My son found some online grammar sites and taught himself all the stuff I had been trying to teach him for years. Because of that , he went on to law school and now he understands prepositions, adverbs, punctuation and all that good stuff! I enjoyed this, Harry.

Well you fooled them all Harry, wish they could read what you write because they would probably rub their eyes in disbelief! Count yourself as being so special. Luv, Lizzie

I know exactly how you feel Harry. English is not my native language, mostly I learned it just through books and movies, that's why my grammars are 'unbelievable' sometime. still, if i spend all my time just hesitating, i won't finish it ever. so, keep having the affliction, you're wonderful the way you are! thanks for stopping by and hope your holiday will be wonderful
