In despair I cling to a barren oak
As eve- long screams without any command;
And though fingers grip blooms around my cloak
Doubt lingers on inside this heart quite bland--
Where misty rain taps upon deadened leaves
That boughs quake on drizzles trickling slow, slow
Until pale of anguish the moonlight relieves:
Perhaps I sense fresh April winds that blow
On a field of daisies growing plump roots--
Surely I could not weaken as life blesses
New springtime calling for hope, for pursuits--
My essence unleashing this dreariness.
Now, the song of a thousand dappled beams
Empowers me as glittered morn redeems!
