Troubled
You may be troubled by my questions
You may label and misconstrue my words
You may say hateful things about me
Obviously, your emotions hinder everything you've heard
I just want to clarify and evaluate
I want to listen so I can learn
I want to give you and I a unique opportunity
To self correct; to grow beyond today's intellectual curve
Do you think we want true answers?
Or beliefs based without whys?
Perhaps we just want to feel good?
Avoiding reality, all-the-while sacrificing precious time
My answers are indifferent to my desires
I gather truths and let misconceptions go
I believe to have faith is to concede
With a pithy response, “only the good Lord really knows”
Where is the great wisdom that's become lost in our knowledge
The information highway struggles in complete emotional disarray
We value feelings over life's harsh realities
Hence, there's a great price we all pay
So, you may be troubled by my questions
You may label and misconstrue my words
You may say hateful things about me
Obviously, your emotions hinder everything you've heard
