Transformation
The flames dwindle to a flicker in the fireplace
I watch the stippled ceiling dance
like stars in an exploding new universe
My chest heaves
In, then out
In silent anticipation of my transformation
From a world of emptiness
To one of a promised bliss,
And in one last gesture i blow a kiss
To this vanishing life
I reach out for those everlasting arms
To guide my tattered soul
Through a tunnel of light and love
And all thats wrong is now made right
I step from mortality to eternity's light,
Peace, joy, love fill my hollow shell
I wake up, a new ode to tell.
