Trade Their Wings

Angels cry and cannot fly
when mortal love floats above.
For though desire burns like fire,
its flame is subdued by shame.
Masked in fear, love draws a tear,
as crying eyes wet the skies.
Angels ache so; their tears flow,
and that pain morphs into rain.
Veiled dreams approaching extremes,
levies a toll on their souls.
And angels cope without hope,
wishing they could skip those days.
Love, once denied, cannot thrive
or garner bliss from a kiss.
But when love starts stirring hearts,
they'd trade their wings for such things.
