Touching Twilight

* In the solitude of an ebbing day, there is a twilight blush along the hills And a world switches direction, ......as if tumbling silently into eternity Where shadows of telephone poles, along a country road,..... seem to curl,... and follow the curve of the earth When the shadow of a tree becomes longer,....... than ever a tree was tall When my own silhouette, so dark and stretched, and long,...... seems to walk between earth and heaven To feel such harmony at days end, my arms seem longer,...almost without limit... long enough,... so that I can reach out to catch the first star upon the evening sky,.... and feel the touch of God.... -------------------------------------- For Nette's Contest: "In 24 Hours" By Carrie Richards

Hi Carrie. Rereading this poem for all its wonderful desciptiveness..a world switching direction seems to take vast amounts of energy, yet it is effortless in this piece...the tree's shadow was an excellent touch...and the ending...your arms with limitless length catching the first star and the touch of God...I am drawn to understand your magical creativity thru this winning piece. Great job, poetess. Gwendolen

carrie, sometimes I feel that I need that I need a fave list just to catch all of your beautiful poetry alone. But I rarely go and read the poems in my Faves section, so one day, if you ever publish all your greatest poetry, please let me know. I will definitely check it out. This is just superb!
