Too Much Love

(A Note To Myself) Can one possibly get too much love? Sounds absurd to a hug famished soul! But if filling your cup is your goal And you’d rather not leave it to luck You might want to just think something of Why your heart doesn’t quack like a duck. Yes, ducks walk and ducks talk but not hearts But do you even know what heart does? Besides give off cicada-like buzz Every time that a cute girl is near A reminder you’re lacking in arts, That is making you thirsty for beer. Though a heart that’s not full is a lack, It’s not right to store girls on a shelf, A convenience store stock for yourself One to pop open when you get dry Or to drive like a new cadillac With your fly opened up to the sky But the crux of the matter is this If just quantity’s all that you seek You will find that your heart springs a leak As love’s flavor fades slowly from view With the magic that’s found in a kiss, But the loss that will hurt most is you.
