Too Far Gone
Fresh from creation
Clean at the slate
They had no foresight
Of the decisions that they made
A brand new nation
And a brand new state
Lost in direction
With no time to hesitate
Take a step forward
And then one further
Can't stop what's moving
To waste time reflecting
The questions were answered
So no need bother
They'll all pay someday
For the blindness of their father
Their time dwindles
As does their sons
On to the next generation
Until it's too far gone
With questions brewing
Under a new day's sun
The thread is still tearing
And there's no where to run
The time's left ticking
Yet to see relief
The truth's set shambles
Waiting to be released
The honest are burning
Cast blame to the chief
Life is too far gone
And none are in belief
