Tonight, the Moon Is Golden
Tonight the moon glows, made over anew,
a shift in the hue of her radiance;
transmuted from stark silver to glorious gold,
a wondrous new side of her resplendence.
I gaze at her splendor, basking in her light –
contemplating the flexibility of life,
the ever shifting nature of even the heavens;
how swiftly do things change.
Even before my very eyes, her color evolves,
slowly as I watch her ascend;
savor magnificence while you may,
for all too rapidly the world turns.
When the museful maiden in the sky
fades back to her usual dress of silver,
when she retreats once more to her blanket made of clouds,
so too shall I return to my hearth; so too shall I rest.
