Tomorrow Is Another Day

The first snow of the year, fell hard and fast Creating a winter wonderland to last Snow flakes danced as wispy winds blew Snow drifts piled three feet high and flew Capturing the view so breathtaking, I could've cried Misting eyes held, by nature’s design, A beautiful scenery as those seen in dreams The schools were closed, the theaters too Most stayed at home, hardly a soul on the streets Tall oak branches laden with snow Gave in to gravity’s continuous pull The power was out, all restaurants closed Salt trucks, front end loaders plowed the roads The fireplace lit brought much glow and warmth When sleep strolled in, I laid down to dream, and Thought, “tomorrow is another day”.

Another well written poem of yours, Audrey! In Frankfurt/Main the Main Railway Station was closed and trains stopped due to fallen trees and braches on the tracks and power lines. There were many car accidents and even highways were closed. Today it is snowing again, but spring will come! Thank you for your welcome comments. Love, Gert

Awesome poem Audrey. Thanks so much for your Kind and encouraging comment. It was the kind that makes one's writing worth while.Smile! This will sound to some like a crazy saying, but so true. "The most valuable wisdom I ever received as a christian, was when I finally learn to stop lying to myself. This is the most valuable lesson a human can learn. The carnal mind will lie to one's sacred heart, in order to gain it's way, bringing a curse upon one's life. Agape, Moses

Audrey, your Soup Mail did not come through. I got a "system error" each time I tried to open it. Guess all the technical problems on the website haven't been resolved. Sorry. Love, Carolyn

Although we long for these snowy days in Florida, there's been so much snow this winter that friends up North are starting to complain. Fear not, Audrey, spring will come again...but you might have to wait longer than "tomorrow." Hope your power was restored and I'm glad you had that fireplace to keep you warm. Not everyone was that lucky. A dear friend went three days without power, but it's back on now. Great entry for the contest! Good luck. Love, Carolyn
