Tomorrow Will Be Better

She crouchs in the corner of her kitchen;her arms wrapped around her bruised body She wants to yell out for help but the words are strangled in her throat by fear She must pull herself together before he return;glass to be picked up broken dishs to be thrown out She must brush her matted hair it is crusted with blood Now the baby is crying she must tend to her;he hates to hear the baby crying Hurrying she cleans up the kitchen and then to the bathroom to clean herself up;no lipstick her lips are swollen Now she needs to fix his supper he will return drunk and hungary Tomorrow will be better; he will ask her forgivness, he will be sorry,he will bring her flowers and promises it will never happen again Forcing a smile she goes about her work for tomorrow will be better
