Tomorrow
I rise to face the morning sun
and start out on my way.
Quietly reminding me
I'm not going to cry today.
Memories and thoughts of you
go racing through my head.
Once again the emptiness
from your side of the bed.
Holding it together
as my soul gets ripped in two.
I try like hell to get my mind
off of my missing you.
I brush my teeth and slowly dress
and then I comb my hair.
I see in my mirror
there sits your empty chair.
Struggling now to fight the tears
but there's no use in trying.
Finally I surrender
and I find that I am crying.
Maybe one day down the road
will be the ending to my sorrow.
Today, my best not good enough
so I'll try again tomorrow.
