Today

Today I stared intently at the sun The man that used to reside in the moon settles there now He stares intently at our lost worlds fluttering aimlessly in the nothingness of a cruel universe No question deserves an answer, no travel beyond will reach his world Stars flicker in despair and the worlds mimic a waving leaf amidst a now common teardrop’s drizzle Tomorrow I shall wake up inhuman again Blind from the ages and this unforgiving sun I shall wonder again if sight does ever engage thought or purpose, my dream I will ask any soul denied my own if we shall in time be one There may never be a day thereafter… In blindness I cannot swear, but ask me again if the sun eventually sets And the man, bearing a yoke, tramples upon the meek And insists… that his moon must again rise
