Today
“These times, they are a changing”
look at who we are and lets start rearranging.
So get up, move, and make a stand,
either get out of the way or take my hand.
We are not “lost souls swimming in a fish bowl,”
but we need to look deep inside our soul.
We have endless oceans, if you can't see,
but we need to live, breathe, and remember, peace is the key.
If you need to “imagine there is no heaven,”
At midnight its finished, and its half past eleven.
Make your dream a reality,
and leave at the door our brutality.
Maybe all we are is “dust in the wind”
Regretting life, as though it were sinned.
So don't go quietly into the night, and accept this loss as a win,
then one day look back and think, maybe this could have been.
See that “under everything,
they're just another human being.”
When it's too late, you'll be here
and will be a victim, of your own fear.
So go out and live, now is your time.
These words are a lesson, not just a rhyme.
So go and don't forget what I said.
“If I can't be my own, I'd feel better dead.”
