Today
I catch raindrops on my head.
Mum hated the rain,
Dad didn't like it either,
They never taught us bad.
Another dull morning,
I unfolded my rainbow umbrella,
jaws dropped looking sad.
Once I had been told not to play in the rain
After spotting a reflection in a puddle,
I got permission to pick berries from a friend's
tree which lay in my palm.
The kind lady spoke and said,
"please eat they are free."
I was never taught to take off strangers.
