To the Woman I Shared Six Months With:

“TO THE WOMAN I SHARED SIX MONTHS WITH:” when you talked to yours, I talked to mine. when you laughed with yours, I laughed with mine. when you kissed yours, I kissed mine. when you made love to yours, I made love to mine. when you said, "I love you," to yours, I said, "I love you," to mine. when you went to sleep alone, I went to sleep alone. that was when yours, that was when mine, became each other's. when they talked, we were the foolish. when they laughed, we were the stupid. when they kissed, we saved the taste of our lips for them. when they were dirty, they perverted our love. as their love grew, ours slowly died. as the owl kept watch over the pure, the demons danced, the demons played and even though I only met you on that defining night, our eyes carried the same heartbreak. we made our own memory. our pain, our tears, our shouts to God asking why? at the bottom of our murdered hearts, we think back to those days we thought love was real. now, at this point in our timeline, it is the very thing that breaks us. our stupidity has given birth to the beauty we now share. to the woman I shared six months with, I was with you and we were never alone.
