To Set Everything Right
I wonder as I look to see what I’ve got.
Things meant to be while others are not.
Did I miss anything, maybe just a sign?
I gather up the pieces I think that are mine.
Sometimes I feel like the puzzle is complete.
Yet I find new pieces in the people I meet.
I learn to be thankful for what I receive.
Some things shall stay while others will leave.
Life seems a balance between the highs and lows.
What shall happen next no one really knows.
The door flies open as the cold wind blows,
In the middle of winter nothing can grow.
Sometimes it feels like I am on a high wire.
One side is what I have the other what I desire.
I am trying to stay the middle and not fall down,
It seems like such a long way down to the ground.
I look at the night sky, the stars and the moon.
Although it is dark the light shall come soon.
The little bit of light seems to guide me along,
Still I can’t wait for the darkness to be gone.
The sun does rise and brings forth light.
Chasing away shadows that hide in the night
Where once I was blind now there is sight,
I get another chance to set everything right.
