Does life to anyone really make sense? Or is all mankind actually this dense? God’s offer of wisdom and truth to man, When accepted, we seldom understand. Sometimes blinded by reason and logic. Surely, it’s not genes or biologic. I ponder and think of the things I don’t know, It came to me; the culprit is ego. Its goal is to always self-edify, It secretly cloaks what’s seen by the eye. An illusion creates, a false belief, We can’t see God’s truth without some relief. To receive God’s truth, see life through His eyes, To the deceiver, we say our goodbyes.

It's all about faith, Bill. Believing in things we cannot see, and now that my eyes are crossed from looking at that picture you posted, I can't see a thing. lol I'm sorry I haven't been commenting as much as I should on your poetry. I'm sending soup mail.

Yes, we with the help of the Holy Spirit have to reach for the Light of the world and turn away from darkness to be able to see the truth. I like the truths in this one. Thanks for sharing it with us and for the nice visits to my page. Sara K

Absolutely dear bill, today we look around and what do we see? I see inflated egos, little knowledge, some-their actions too dont make sense to me, simply because some are infants in adult bodies, lacking social skills, compassion and kindness, so many prefer to live in illusions, maybe their idea to not face reality. I see so many with challenges, turn to faith, keep God close, helps, we are all sent for a reason, life is a test/trial but we as humanbeings we are learning as we grow:luv it

Enjoyed your poem, Bill and I agree with the culprit, too. Maybe, since as children we're treated as children, we treat life with the same falseness(with stories, not with reality. I don't know.) Love the last two lines. And I closed one eye to keep that picture from spinning; good one!

I disagree with SO. Life does have a purpose, and the Grand Purposer has laid it out in black and white. One of my fave verses in this regard is Ecclesiastes 12:13. Have a great night

Great sonnet Bill my dear friend.. I don't think life is suppose to make sense.. I think people should learn to be content and enjoy it.. there will be bad times and there will be good times... life is a balance of holding on and letting go.. important to be kind and help others.. as these things always return to the sender...

It doesn't have to make sense to me for me to live a good and purposeful life, my friend. I agree with you, being kind and helping other people is a good starting point to find one's purpose in life. It's been said, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I'd add, it happens that way a lot. They treat us as we've treated them. I've found kindness and treating others well does come back to us, maybe not from the same person. When we are a blessing to someone else, we will also be blessed.
