To My Beloved....A Letter Poem
To My Beloved
We’ve been through hell
hell and back again, really,
To a new beginning
a fresh start, relearning
who we are,
what we want, dream, desire.
Lovers, reuniting
Savoring the long anticipated flavors,
textures, scents of intimacy
Remembering all the secret places
pausing, lingering, slow and deliberate
savoring, craving, flesh quivering
connecting like never before,
Made all the more bittersweet
knowing your health is deteriorating
wondering how long I have
to store these precious moments
I don’t want to lose you again
so I savor your every touch
your intrepid gaze, your jaunty smile,
your twinkling eyes
your laugh, your humor, your kiss
So, if I seem a bit clingy, or
loiter too long over a parting embrace
forgive me,
indulge me,
love me,
Just hold me,
work your magic
and enchant me...
I am yours forever.
