To Be Care Free?
Life is full of trouble,
life is full of pain.
Life will fill you every day
with more of the same.
Life will grind you down.
Life will beat you up.
Life will turn the tides
and drown all your luck.
Time tells for both
the served and the server
but no one can be
just a pitiless observer.
Time tells for the old,
the brave, and the young
and all the un-brave things
we cowards have ever done.
The world turns, and babies cry,
a priest rings Catholic bells,
a mist rises from grass to sky
but only the dead can have no cares.
