To a Departed Friend

The Moon is fulsome and low tonight. Perchance we shall converse in its light. Are you near within reach, And discerning of my speech? My friend, back many years from here. And gone now, though heled so dear. Past now into that dark Defile, Where I may not venture, at least for a while. Pray you will recall this face in detail, When happily we meet on a familiar trail.
