Tire Attire Preposition Poem

Ode to my crocs -- BALD from high wear, In serious need of good-riddance During my TREAD on a wet floor with care In the throws of a SKID and imBALANCE By the absence of any TRACTION Between the floor and the sole of my croc In need of replacement action for my crocs on the croc-chopping block Up from the floor no worse for the wear Through all the sales in the fliers At the store with the Croc footwear Back home with the new set of TIRES

Love this! I've written 2 or 3 Croc poems myself... It's all I wear!

That's right. We had exchanged croc poems. I deleted my long poem because I couldn't improve it. In any case, I read poems much more than I write them, so you don't need to bother to return comments. I read all your poems because they're more witty than silly.

Its simplicity belies how hard I strained for this result.

Don't know much about the preposition proposition, but the tire attire strikes me as delightfully silly and wonderful. About Crocs — I'm mad at 'em! The first pair of flips I bought were the best thing I ever wore on my feet (except toenails). When they wore out I went to buy another pair and, of course, they'd redesigned them. I'd give my new ones to anyone who'd want 'em. Back to your poem — I like it! Now 'scuse please, I gotta go walk the dog while wearing New Balance flip flops! :-(

Explaining the preposition aspect.... I took a grammar course that included an activity to write a poem, starting the lines with prepositions. It was a strain to manipulate the words, but this was the result.

It was inspired by my gratefulness to G-d for crocs.

Always late to the party but thought I'd do a drive by and see what all the commotion was about. This is very clever and also extremely witty, Hannah. Nicely penned!

Thanks for your attention to ALL my poems! I'm proud of my poems, but if my page stagnates, it will be for dearth of ideas. (No need to waste a follow on me)

That was very cool Hannah. I have a pair of Crocs but I just never could get use to wearing them but....I also have a pair of croc flip flops that are my favorites and I haven't found any others the fit and feel as good as these. Nice and yes, this was quite different in form and theme. Nicely done.

Thanks! My first compliment ever! I won't be getting many more due to zero creativity. At best, I could rhyme a true incident which that was. This was produced as a result a free online grammar course that challenged us to write a preposition poem -- the reason it's so different. As to Crocs, if it's the bumps by the heel that's bothersome, I take a 'pointed' pliers to the new ones and pull me out one at a time.

That's funny. I might just give that a try. And don't sell yourself short about your poetry. Just keep trying if that is what you want to do. We all started somewhere. You will do just fine.
