Time To Wake Up

The treasures we make and store away, To help make life better some far away day. We work and we strive, In these days filled with greed we barely survive. The plans that we made seems were lost along the way, What used to take a year to make you spend in a day. Not that many years ago you could buy a new car for less than a fourth of the cost today, It simply has gotten out of hand is what I’m trying to say. I think OPEC was one of our worst mistakes, We gave them power we were their icing on the cake. We taught them how to drill for oil and supplied them with everything they’d need. We made many a man rich we filled them with greed. With all that money came power and they liked to tease. And charging what they wanted we could feel them squeeze. As the price of oil keeps growing, It’s taking a toll on our economy and it’s showing. We’ve got to stop playing this deadly game, Another hundred years there won’t be anyone left to blame. Be self sufficient should be our main focus, No more smoking mirrors or hocus pocus. It’s not to late we can turn it all around, Stop paying these high prices and watch the prices come down. We have to take a stand no matter the size, Spend only what you must would sure be wise.
