Time Stands Still

My brain fast forwards but my heart remains With you, who have inspired me every day. Years of acquaintance won’t go into drains: Like a good aftertaste that’s here to stay, An emptied glass is not the story’s end. I still remember the times we first met: From just a name on paper, oft mispenned, To chance encounters never to forget. Still and all, the tide rises, the tide falls — We’re shooting stars whose paths crossed only to Spread out as wandering and blazing balls, Not knowing what our next pursuits will brew. But I know this by heart: my fate line will E’er mark this very night when time stands still.
