Time Rides a Silver Stallion
Time is a veiled rider that rides a silver horse—
Riding step by step along your chosen course.
At first you take scant notice as you’re free of care—
You feel wind surround you as life tugs your hair.
But then you briefly see him, as he lingers by—
A rustle of pines that slightly catches eye.
Yet then those middle years seem to come far too soon,
As you’re roping cattle instead of a full moon.
And before you know it, there is no place to hide—
You glance around to find Time riding by your side.
You spur your horse the harder and laugh in Time’s face—
Watch his silver stallion win that final race.
Your life rides on without you as you pull up lame—
Time rides on alone as you softly call his name.
Time is a veiled rider upon a silver steed—
Savor all your moments and take all you need.
