Time Marches On

As time marches on through the hall that is my heart, it meets locked doors stumbles on and stops... no place to go the light flickers as the candle burns bright the wick, my life - the light, my hope I follow time down the darkened hall and on out through the locked doors we pass quietly and do not disturb the peaceful slumber of the soul ...and time marches on... lost loves and forgotten dreams lie still on an empty floor they fade away, dissapear, and die as an eternal hope lingers on, on I walk as the candle burns my life away more is forgotten yet more is experienced as time marches on (and on and on) it rolls crushing the feats of the day the dreams of tomorrow the hopes we once had the wars they will end the heavens they will fall to this power, crushes all taking life (starting anew) light, dark, peace, war, love, and hate in the end it's forgotten yet the beginning means so much what of your hate? what of your love? what of us all? we leave us behind to experience the rest... is what we need a rest is what we crave so take now your time and spend it well the yesterdays are gone, tomorrow's not yet here ...and time marches on... it passes without you seeing you see it without knowing you touch it without feeling you reach without touching and as your hope dies it sits in your heart, as your search ends you lose it forever, what you've had all along setting on life making dark our thoughts enlightening our dreams and ruling our hearts for none to judge for all to see for us to have for them to hold for we all praise for we must know that all we've seen must never go for time is all I have and I follow as it marches on and on and on it moves the time (my life), the light (it burns) the wick (it's gone), ...and time marches on ...

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
