Time Kept On Slippin
He said he would go to a new place
Said he wanted to see some new faces
Was tired of the same old thing
Wanted to fulfill some dreams
He saw some things on the television
He was destined on a mission
Kept on hoping and wishing
Figured he would be really persistent
Yeah he was ready for the world
Like giving a nut to a squirrel
So anxious and ready to go
Thought things would move fast, but they begin to move slow
Started hanging out with some guys
His truths became lies
His life at a halt
Not giving much thought
The days went past
The weeks carried on
The months flew by
The years of a young boy scorned
The dreams that were once perpetuated
Of a boy that long ago had no hesitation
To tell the story of his success one day
Seems to have faded away
That’s when reality hits
You begin to think about what once was
And realize you were so busy trippin
That time kept on slippin
