Till Death Do Part

She changed my life, became my Wife, at my side, thru struggles or strife. Gave birth to Son, just the one, us together, having fun! Made some plans, to do, we can, the future bright, until our plight. A cancer came, seems in the night, a battle fought, with all her might, a stoic stance, but lost the fight. Now those plans, they did end, my life alone, to attend. Recited vows, till death do part, no wisdom shared, for broken heart!

Knowing you as I do, I know writing is helpful. Death is never something you get over; especially someone who was deeply loved by all who knew her. Love you <3

Such a beautiful, poignant poem Mark. So much told and expressed in your lines of which you convey your loss and grief so bravely. It is a very touching read. That last stanza, in particular, really reaches out to the reader. True love lasts forever. Thank you for sharing. Hugs to you :):)

Very sad poem Mark but very well expressed. Poetry helped me with depression and mental illness, still does, I know it's not the same as what you've been through but perhaps poetry can allow you to write down what you may find it difficult to say out loud

Clive, thanks again for your support and comments, it is appreciated! You are spot on, writing is how I dealt with my Wife's passing, it allowed me to see what I was experiencing. We all have burdens to bear, I am glad for you, that it has helped with your particular issues. It has been a little over 7 years, since she passed. We were together for 34 + years.
