Tiger Jet
Tiger Jet
Today I become a jet
I drink gallons of petroleum to fuel my needs
Race across the sky to catch my breath
Speed to altitudes that can’t be reached
Steering left
I take half of nature with me through the canyons
While ripping it in two
Leaving others to stitch it back together
Yesterday I was a tiger with two cold eyes
Weaving through the jungle green
Teeth ripping at some warm raw flesh
Tearing at the seams of life that can’t be measured
Now I tear through skies at lightning speed
Breaking barriers of sound like thunder
While my old self looks up to roar
Wishing it could soar above the canopy of trees once more
