Thy Self

He can not answer this for her The tides deterged are clear Their feelings on a pendulum Is something both so fear To sail the seas around the world Expecting not a storm A pleasant voice without complaint Unable to perform Emotions let one's feelings out Don't bottle them inside A balance keeps one's measure poised Contentment to abide When chaos hits its not too late Maintaining self control To trust in Him and not on self Submit one's heart and soul

To trust in Him is the ultimate love, and reverence... To love one another, to give one another love, not lust is a beautiful things, especially if you both feel the real thing. many mistake love with want, they're both two different things, but, they eventually tie themselves together... Both have to believe in each other- This is a very good write, dear Thomas, thank you for sharing. *hug* Tanya

So true. Thanks for your comments. If I could only love and be loved by a woman again, how wonderful that would be. Now being a Celibate Monk, I lust profusely, for many women. I cannot help myself when woman are #1 so beautiful and #2 put themselves out there as sexual objects. It is so hard to know I have to stop at a certain point, admire the beauty and stop. Move on, then I am hit with another gorgeous woman. It cannot be achieved online, but only in friendship. Platonic hugs, electronically, Thomas

I love this. Starting with the take on matters hard to answer but deftly maneuvers inclusion of a loved one in the dilemma on how to handle life's tests as they journey through life. Ends with power as the ultimate solution with Him is found. 7+++. I love your poem, Thomas. Smiles. :D Kim

You are too kind Kim, but you nailed the meaning of the protagonist's expression. Thanks....Thomas

I like the range that this poem can be applied to. An excellent, open write. And 'expecting not a storm' and introspection. Unfortunately, most cant see beyond their 'self'. Glad I found this one.

Author Notes: Was not sure what to say as far as type of poem as I saw no correct heading. The poems is Common Meter, alternating iambic tetrameter and trimeter with abcb rhyme pattern The poem is about a relationship, introspection, conflict with "self" and what is a good resolve >?

A good resolve is believing in oneself, trusting, loving, being very sure of oneself... Letting others love you back- Hugs Thomas Tanya
