Every so often the kids passed a pasture Where a divine farmer kept his sheep One night they crooked themselves in While the farmer was fast asleep They rolled with the grassy hillside Onto the gates of his wooly pen With the cover of darkness helping Except for a noisy noisy mother hen She cackled louder, louder and louder And their plans began to sweat Still, they roped a baby lamb That would soon become their pet When their fleeing tiptoes met a hitch And the farmer appeared before their eyes He preached he'd sacrifice his baby lamb If they pray for their sins and hear God's cries

Connie, Love your story of how a bunch of kids decide to sneak onto a farmer's land for a little adventure, aiming to snatch a lamb. BUT their fun quickly turns into a serious moment when the farmer catches them and turns it into a life lesson. Wonderful tale of childhood mischief with a deeper message actions and their consequences. Cheers, Don PS: I had a similar experience as a boy hunting arrowheads in a corn field.

Ahhh but they only win the doubler if they humble themselves and get down on their knees. We'll need a part 2 for the answer. Nice ditty

The bad boys met a hitch. Was it an obstacle (the farmer) or a ride to the other side? Both. That's the answer.
