Thoughts Within

Today as I sit quietly, I am caught up in thoughts within, And see myself sitting by the ocean, As the waves are crashing in. The sand is light and cool, As it rises between my toes, Much like my present thoughts, Thoughts only the Lord knows. The wind blows gently past me, Yet there is warmth in my space, As though wrapped in heavenly arms, Keeping me warm in this special place. The waves crash gently in, In their rhythmic way, Having an almost hypnotic affect, Bringing about such peace this day. The seagulls fly overhead, Gliding upon the gusts of winds, Much like when I stay on path, And avoid the crosswinds. Children run past me, Laughing and sharing such joy, A reminder of the life, Which Christ would have each of us enjoy. My thoughts had taken me back, To a place where peace abounds, A place of nature’s artistry, A place where Heavenly Father’s gifts surround. If I will only stop and open my eyes, Or let my mind wonder back to where I have been, I will experience the Lord’s lessons in every place, And feel his ever-present guidance within.
