This Was The Year That Was

Well, where have all the years gone? especially this year has been so quick for it led to this being my 70th year makes one think how its been so slick My poetry this year was a real challenge having not been so good at rhyme considered to have a long break but felt wasn't the right time All these years I've been writing wondering if it could last for one day it would just end thinking my dye had been cast But I've still got my pen in hand trusting my grey cells to communicate keeping my pen flowing hope others find my open gate Now the years have nearly gone remind myself to be thankful because destiny will find a way through for this was the year that was! (THis is my personal review of 2023)

Hello Gordon. I really enjoyed your reflective poem. As dear SV says, you rhyme so well. Keep on writing and being inspired and in turn, you will also inspire others. Keep your ink flowing in your pen so we can enjoy your lovely poems. Hope you are well and not snowed in up there. It’s getting colder again this week. Keep well. Blessings to you :):)

I always enjoy your poetry Gordon, and you are very good at Rhyme. 1953 was very good year for poets being born. Write on dear poet, and my inspiration fly gracefully to you as you contemplate each new work. God bless.

Thanks for sharing this. God bless you. Meanwhile, I greet you with a Joyous New Year with this prayer from the Bible in Numbers 6:24-26, "The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."

Gordon, this is a beautiful reflection on the passage of time and the challenges of writing poetry. Your words are both poignant and inspiring, reminding us to be grateful for the time we have and to keep our creative passions alive. Your poem’s themes of perseverance and hope are especially relevant in today’s world, where so many of us are struggling to find meaning and purpose. Keep writing my friend! Happy New Year, Blessings, - Daniel
