He smiled behind the wish to cry
Spoke through determination
to be silent
And all the while
she continued to shine
"Tell me", he said, "tell me
what stars remain to be plucked?
You dimmed them all
You drowned the moon
You shunned the sun"
"Look deep inside", she said
"You do not live in me
or I in you
Find that little ember
And rekindle yourself"
And with that final flicker
of a smile
she disappeared
