This Journey So Short:

Thy nights are full of longing and despair, And my days are filled in much the same way, I long to live without a single care, It is possible, for this I do pray. Most tell you that this cannot be achieved, But I believe that miracles come true, For far too long now I have sat and grieved, Over misspent time and indulgence too. So try I shall to live a life worthwhile, One with substance and meaning to its end, Have walked this road for many a mile, Into every valley, mountain and bend. At times I'll still feel left out in the cold, This journey so short, and mine is untold. /|\

"For far too long now I have sat and grieved, Over misspent time and indulgence too." <~~ this is the real deal. : ) So true, and yet... And yet I think we need to be ever-mindful of our past failures - especially those of us who have been truly foolish (guilty, here). We can spend too much time looking back, yes, but we shouldn't lose total sight of it.

You'll get no argument here my friend! Me thinks you be the Seer in your own poem 'The Seeker" /|\

The ending is profound, Rick. And the poem itself is inked in wisdom. Very thoughtful and meditative poem, at least to me. Loved it though. Excellent write. I've been under the weather a bit, haven't been reading the other poet's poems like I want. But I'm feeling better now. Much love to you, my Aussie friend.

Very nice, Rick and I really love the ending couplet. That makes all the difference when writing sonnets. Perfect last line.

I always say: Life is not always fun and it is not always fair but it is always an experience. It's what we get out of that experience that counts. Great job here. God Bless, JB

I think at times we all feel left out in the cold, but miracles can come true and the warmth we seek will always find us when we need it most. Very nicely expressed thoughts and feelings my friend.

Not over the moon? Perhaps, but still... It has a 'bumpy' kind of cadence, but that actually adds to its charm :)
