This Heart

This wretched heart holds ambivalence It cares not for malice or pain Lurching prodigally towards desire Without care for consequence This hearts craving leads the way and hence It stands to have little to gain On it's way to perdition and fire Where the breaking will soon commence For now this heart is safe on its fence Stoic for iniquity's feign Introspection will prove a liar What a unique set of events I doubt none as such has happened since This heart compelled to feel such pain But dismayed, it's need vexingly dire And it's depth runs deep and intense
