This Day In 1944

This Day in 1944 By Franklin Price 6/6/2015 This day in 1944 Became the day of D French beaches were invaded To make hostage Europe free Young men that day would battle Many would give their all Someone had to do it To make the Third Reich fall War is not a pretty sight With blood and awful gore Much of it occurred that day In the channel and on the shore There would be no stopping Until the allies overcame We remember them and what they gave Each grave it has a name I write this to remember them Give tribute to them all Who gave their lives for freedom Answered their country's call Honor also those that still are here On that beach their dues did pay To live 'til now their destiny Getting fewer every day

It was a very sad day but so many honorable men gave their lives that day. Great tribute, Franklin.
