There's Life to Find

The skies have opened, to start a new day, And morning meets us with mist and grey. The lulling sound of the roof and the rain, Brings a tranquility that’s hard to explain. There’s life to find in this murk and gloom, In pellets pattering, and faint thunder boom. The boughs are heavy, and slumping down, And palm tree fronds, the shape of a frown. The street is empty, but two walkers appear, They start out very far, but come very near. They banter and laugh, at such a brisk pace, Colorful ponchos, and a smile on each face. They pass on quickly, like wind and chime, Two lights in the dark, one moment in time. There’s life to find in this murk and gloom, In pellets pattering and faint thunder boom.
