There Is Something About Nothing To Do
There is something about nothing to do
When all your work is through
The chore list finished with nothing new
With no one expecting any more from you
There is something about nothing to do
Nowhere to go, no lawn to mow
No sheets to fold, ducks in a row
No errands to run, no uninvited to shun
No favors for hun, look pal your done
Nothing to do except what you want to
Write that poem stuck in your head
Visit your favorite uncle Fred
Open that book you forgot to read
Seeing that movie you wanted to see
Go out on a random date
Count the stars when it's late
Or relax and take off your shoes
Play old records of Rock and Blues
There is something about nothing to do
With extra time you can't lose
Even if you just nod off and snooze.
