There Is No Substitute
There is no substitute for the truth,
a lesson we must teach our youth.
We stretch our freedom of choice,
and misuse the freedom of voice.
For we love an alternative to the standard,
only to have our values be slandered.
The alternative way never ends up as good,
as we hoped it would.
It only leads to heartache and pain,
nothing but disappointment to obtain.
No matter what games people play,
Jesus is still the truth, the life and only way.
He desires to take away all your sin,
if you will simply ask him in.
There is no shortcut or easier path to take,
but that is a decision only you can make.
There is no substitute for the best,
so why bother with all the rest.
